BD16m in Procurement Requests Aimed at Improving Government Services and Productivity Discussed at 57th ICT Governance Committee Meeting

Procurement requests by government entities valued at approximately BD16 million were discussed at the 57th Information and Communication Technology Governance Committee (ICTGC) meeting, chaired by Committee Vice Chairman and Information & eGovernment Authority (iGA) Deputy Chief Executive of Electronic Transformation, Dr. Zakareya Ahmed Al Khaja. The meeting was held via videoconference.



AlKhajah welcomed the attendees, thanking them for their continuous contributions. The Committee covered a range of items, including a project to improve water consumption measurement methods at the Electricity and Water Authority (EWA), which aims to improve the exchange of information between different systems, leading to real-time analysis and better reporting.



The committee studied enhancing communications at the Ministry of Finance and National Economy through cloud computing technologies, which will reduce operational costs and improve efficiency. Also discussed was the development of eServices for medicine licenses at the National Health Regulatory Authority (NHRA), in line with a plan to digitize all medical services and streamline them for health centers in the Kingdom.



On the agenda were projects and procurement requests related to improving IT services at several government entities. In addition, the Committee reviewed implemented decisions from previous meetings.



In attendance were Ministry of Education Undersecretary for Policies, Strategies, and Performance, Nawal Al Khater; Ministry of Health Assistant Undersecretary for Public Health, Dr.Maryam Ibrahim Al-Hajri; iGA Deputy CE of Operations and Governance, Dr. Khalid Ahmed Almutawa; Ministry of Finance and National Economy Director of Financial Systems Development, Abdullah Ahmed Dhaif; Economic Development Board (EDB) Director of Corporate Services, Linda Mohammed Janahi; University of Bahrain Dean of the College of Information Technology, Dr. Hessa Jassim Al Junaid, and Information Technology Project Management Consultant, Dr. Ali AlSoufi. Also present were the committee’s support team.
