IT projects and purchases valued at approximately BD 2.5 million discussed at 71st ICT Governance Committee meeting

Strategic procurementrequests valued at BD2.5 million were discussed at the 71st Information andCommunication Technology Governance Committee’s (ICTGC) meeting, chaired by theInformation & eGovernment Authority (iGA) Chief Executive, Mohammed Ali AlQaed.
Al Qaed thanked theattendees for their efforts and contributions. The meeting reviewed theprogress of the first phase of the Building Information Modeling (BIM) project,which aims to build a roadmap for 3D BIM adoption in the real estate,construction, and infrastructure sectors in the Kingdom of Bahrain. The projectwill improve the building permits services through the new version of Benayatsystem, and aims to facilitate data exchange, expedite the verificationprocess, save time and costs, and enhance the quality of infrastructureprojects while minimizing risks and obstacles.
The committeediscussed the digital transformation project at the Supreme Council forEnvironment (SCE), which aims to automate environmental license services forservice facilities as well as industrial and infrastructure projects. Itutilizes low-code development technologies with user-friendly interfaces,speeding up development, adapting to changes, and enhancing efficiency inmeeting business requirements with less technical dependencies. on technical teams or specializedprogrammers.
The committeeaddressed several projects, purchase requests, and government systemdevelopments that focus on improving IT services. The committee also reviewedprogress in implementing the decisions approved during previous meetings.
