ICT Governance Committee Discusses Projects and Purchase Requests during its 68th meeting

The 68th meeting of the Information and Communications Technology Governance Committee (ICTGC) addressed number of key projects and purchase requests related to several government entities.

During the meeting, which held virtually, Dr. Zakaria Ahmed Al Khaja, Deputy CE of Electronic Transformation at the Information & eGovernment Authority and Vice Chairman of the ICTG Committee, welcomed the members of the committee and congratulated them on the occasion of the blessed month of Ramadan.

The meeting covered a number of topics including the project to upgrade the water management systems of the Electricity and Water Authority and migrate it to the cloud. The project will contribute to improving the system’s operating environment, raising the level of security and data protection, in addition to reducing operational expenses and administrative burdens over the long level.

Additionally, the committee reviewed a range of projects and purchase requests related to the development and ongoing support of government systems. They also explored ways to enhance the quality and efficiency of Information Technology services. Moreover, the committee reviewed the implementation plan and progress of decisions made in previous meetings.

Dr. Al Khaja concluded the meeting by expressing his gratitude and appreciation to the committee members for their dedicated efforts, cooperation, and continuous support.

It is worth mentioning that the 68th committee meeting was held in the presence of Ms. Nawal Ibrahim Al Khater, Undersecretary for Policies, Strategies, and Performance at the Ministry of Education, Dr. Khalid Ahmed Al Mutawa, iGA Deputy CE of Operations and Governance, Dr. Samia Ali Bahram, Assistant Undersecretary for Public Health at the Ministry of Health. Mr. Abdullah Ahmed Dhaif, Director of the Financial Systems Development at the Ministry of Finance and National Economy, Ms. Linda Mohammed Janahi, Executive Director of Corporate Operations at Bahrain Economic Development Board (EDB), Dr. Hessa Jassim Al-Junaid, Dean of the College of Information Technology at the University of Bahrain and Mr. Ahmed Abdulnabi Al-Qayyim, Director of Services and Information Technology at the Office of the Prime Minister. The meeting was also attended by Dr. Ali Mohammed Al-Soufi, Information Technology Advisor and the support team of the Information and Communications Technology Governance Committee.
